Jeep® Brand News Roundup

There’s been a lot of news coming out of the Jeep® brand lately, and we wanted to help you get caught up. Some things — like a selection of more than 200 parts and accessories for the 2019 Jeep Wrangler — are having an immediate impact at Hall Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM Chesapeake. Some of the rest are going to take a little patience.

First up is the new Deserthawk trim. It’s not the same trim that was offered a couple of years back on the Jeep Renegade. More than a color scheme, this is going to be performance-oriented, just like the Trackhawk® and Trail Rated™ Trailhawk® trims. As RoadShow mentions, details are hard to come by (the trim hits dealerships in about a year’s time), but indications are that it will be tailor-made for sandy environments.

Other developments come thanks to the five-year plan recently unveiled for the Jeep brand. It will see Level 3 autonomy and a wide range of hybrid and all-electric models added by 2021, and two new vehicle launches per year by the time this cycle ends in 2022. Once it’s over, there will be at least one new Jeep model in each of six segments.

  • A Segment: A new Jeep SUV that slots in below the Jeep Renegade
  • B Segment: A redesigned Jeep Renegade
  • C Segment: The all-new Jeep Wrangler and a refresh for the Jeep Compass
  • D Segment: A jeep truck, an unnamed three-row SUV, and the next-generation Jeep Cherokee, as well as the Jeep Grand Commander (which is now available only in China)
  • E Segment: The Jeep Grand Cherokee, and a yet-unnamed three-row SUV
  • F Segment: The revived Jeep Wagoneer and Jeep Grand Wagoneer
